¹그들이 이집트 땅에서 나온 뒤 둘째 해 둘째 달 첫째 날에 주께서 시내 광야에서 회중의 성막에서 모세에게 말씀하여 이르시되, And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying,

²너희는 이스라엘 자손 온 회중의 총수를 그들의 가족들과 그들의 조상들의 집에 따라 그들의 이름 수와 함께 모든 남자를 그들의 머릿수대로 계수하라. Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of their names, every male by their polls;

³이스라엘 안에서 스무 살이 넘어 싸움에 나갈 수 있는 모든 자를 너와 아론은 그들의 군대대로 계수하고 From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies.

⁴각 지파에서 한 사람 곧 그의 조상들의 집에서 우두머리 한 사람을 취하여 너희와 함께하게 할지니라. And with you there shall be a man of every tribe; every one head of the house of his fathers.

⁵¶너희와 함께 설 사람들의 이름은 이러하니 르우벤 지파에서는 스데울의 아들 엘리술이요, And these are the names of the men that shall stand with you: of the tribe of Reuben; Elizur the son of Shedeur.

⁶시므온에게서는 수리삿대의 아들 슬루미엘이요, Of Simeon; Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.

⁷유다에게서는 암미나답의 아들 나손이요, Of Judah; Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

⁸잇사갈에게서는 수알의 아들 느다네엘이요, Of Issachar; Nethaneel the son of Zuar.

⁹스불론에게서는 헬론의 아들 엘리압이요, Of Zebulun; Eliab the son of Helon.

¹⁰요셉 자손 중 에브라임에게서는 암미훗의 아들 엘리사마요, 므낫세에게서는 브다술의 아들 가말리엘이요, Of the children of Joseph: of Ephraim; Elishama the son of Ammihud: of Manasseh; Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

¹¹베냐민에게서는 기드오니의 아들 아비단이요, Of Benjamin; Abidan the son of Gideoni.

¹²단에게서는 암미삿대의 아들 아히에셀이요, Of Dan; Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

¹³아셀에게서는 오그란의 아들 바기엘이요, Of Asher; Pagiel the son of Ocran.

¹⁴갓에게서는 드우엘의 아들 엘리아삽이요, Of Gad; Eliasaph the son of Deuel.

¹⁵납달리에게서는 에난의 아들 아히라니라, 하시니라. Of Naphtali; Ahira the son of Enan.

¹⁶이들은 회중에서 명성 있는 자들이요, 그들의 조상들의 지파들의 통치자로 이스라엘 안에서 수천 명의 우두머리더라. These were the renowned of the congregation, princes of the tribes of their fathers, heads of thousands in Israel.

¹⁷¶모세와 아론이 지명 받은 이 사람들을 데리고 And Moses and Aaron took these men which are expressed by their names:

¹⁸둘째 달 첫째 날에 온 회중을 함께 모으니 그들이 자기들의 조상들의 집과 자기들의 가족들에 따라 자기들의 혈통을 밝히되 스무 살 넘은 자들이 이름 수에 따라 자기들의 머릿수대로 혈통을 밝히매 And they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month, and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.

¹⁹주께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 그가 시내 광야에서 그들을 계수하니라. As the LORD commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.

²⁰이스라엘의 맏아들 르우벤의 자손 곧 그들의 세대들과 그들의 가족들과 그들의 조상들의 집에 따라 스무 살이 넘어 싸움에 나갈 수 있는 모든 남자를 이름 수에 따라 그들의 머릿수대로 계수하니 And the children of Reuben, Israel’s eldest son, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

²¹그들 중에서 계수된 자 곧 르우벤 지파에 속한 자가 사만 육천오백 명이더라. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Reuben, were forty and six thousand and five hundred.

²²¶시므온 자손에 속한 자들 곧 그들의 세대들과 그들의 가족들과 그들의 조상들의 집에 따라 스무 살이 넘어 싸움에 나갈 수 있는 모든 남자를 이름 수에 따라 그들의 머릿수대로 계수하니 Of the children of Simeon, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, those that were numbered of them, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

²³그들 중에서 계수된 자 곧 시므온 지파에 속한 자가 오만 구천삼백 명이더라. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Simeon, were fifty and nine thousand and three hundred.

²⁴¶갓 자손에 속한 자들 곧 그들의 세대들과 그들의 가족들과 그들의 조상들의 집에 따라 스무 살이 넘어 싸움에 나갈 수 있는 모든 자를 이름 수에 따라 계수하니 Of the children of Gad, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

²⁵그들 중에서 계수된 자 곧 갓 지파에 속한 자가 사만 오천육백오십 명이더라. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Gad, were forty and five thousand six hundred and fifty.

²⁶¶유다 자손에 속한 자들 곧 그들의 세대들과 그들의 가족들과 그들의 조상들의 집에 따라 스무 살이 넘어 싸움에 나갈 수 있는 모든 자를 이름 수에 따라 계수하니 Of the children of Judah, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

²⁷그들 중에서 계수된 자 곧 유다 지파에 속한 자가 칠만 사천육백 명이더라. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Judah, were threescore and fourteen thousand and six hundred.

²⁸¶잇사갈 자손에 속한 자들 곧 그들의 세대들과 그들의 가족들과 그들의 조상들의 집에 따라 스무 살이 넘어 싸움에 나갈 수 있는 모든 자를 이름 수에 따라 계수하니 Of the children of Issachar, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

²⁹그들 중에서 계수된 자 곧 잇사갈 지파에 속한 자가 오만 사천사백 명이더라. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Issachar, were fifty and four thousand and four hundred.

³⁰¶스불론 자손에 속한 자들 곧 그들의 세대들과 그들의 가족들과 그들의 조상들의 집에 따라 스무 살이 넘어 싸움에 나갈 수 있는 모든 자를 이름 수에 따라 계수하니 Of the children of Zebulun, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

³¹그들 중에서 계수된 자 곧 스불론 지파에 속한 자가 오만 칠천사백 명이더라. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Zebulun, were fifty and seven thousand and four hundred.

³²¶요셉 자손 중에서 즉 에브라임 자손에 속한 자들 곧 그들의 세대들과 그들의 가족들과 그들의 조상들의 집에 따라 스무 살이 넘어 싸움에 나갈 수 있는 모든 자를 이름 수에 따라 계수하니 Of the children of Joseph, namely , of the children of Ephraim, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

³³그들 중에서 계수된 자 곧 에브라임 지파에 속한 자가 사만 오백 명이더라. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Ephraim, were forty thousand and five hundred.

³⁴¶므낫세 자손에 속한 자들 곧 그들의 세대들과 그들의 가족들과 그들의 조상들의 집에 따라 스무 살이 넘어 싸움에 나갈 수 있는 모든 자를 이름 수에 따라 계수하니 Of the children of Manasseh, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

³⁵그들 중에서 계수된 자 곧 므낫세 지파에 속한 자가 삼만 이천이백 명이더라. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Manasseh, were thirty and two thousand and two hundred.

³⁶¶베냐민 자손에 속한 자들 곧 그들의 세대들과 그들의 가족들과 그들의 조상들의 집에 따라 스무 살이 넘어 싸움에 나갈 수 있는 모든 자를 이름 수에 따라 계수하니 Of the children of Benjamin, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

³⁷그들 중에서 계수된 자 곧 베냐민 지파에 속한 자가 삼만 오천사백 명이더라. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Benjamin, were thirty and five thousand and four hundred.

³⁸¶단 자손에 속한 자들 곧 그들의 세대들과 그들의 가족들과 그들의 조상들의 집에 따라 스무 살이 넘어 싸움에 나갈 수 있는 모든 자를 이름 수에 따라 계수하니 Of the children of Dan, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

³⁹그들 중에서 계수된 자 곧 단 지파에 속한 자가 육만 이천칠백 명이더라. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Dan, were threescore and two thousand and seven hundred.

⁴⁰¶아셀 자손에 속한 자들 곧 그들의 세대들과 그들의 가족들과 그들의 조상들의 집에 따라 스무 살이 넘어 싸움에 나갈 수 있는 모든 자를 이름 수에 따라 계수하니 Of the children of Asher, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

⁴¹그들 중에서 계수된 자 곧 아셀 지파에 속한 자가 사만 천오백 명이더라. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Asher, were forty and one thousand and five hundred.

⁴²¶납달리 자손에 속한 자들 곧 그들의 세대들과 그들의 가족들과 그들의 조상들의 집에 따라 스무 살이 넘어 싸움에 나갈 수 있는 모든 자를 이름 수에 따라 계수하니 Of the children of Naphtali, throughout their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

⁴³그들 중에서 계수된 자 곧 납달리 지파에 속한 자가 오만 삼천사백 명이더라. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Naphtali, were fifty and three thousand and four hundred.

⁴⁴계수된 자들은 이러한데 이들은 모세와 아론과 열두 명의 이스라엘의 통치자들 곧 각각 자기 조상들의 집을 대표하는 자가 계수한 자들이더라. These are those that were numbered, which Moses and Aaron numbered, and the princes of Israel, being twelve men: each one was for the house of his fathers.

⁴⁵이와 같이 이스라엘 자손 중에서 그들의 조상들의 집에 따라 스무 살이 넘은 모든 자 곧 이스라엘 안에서 싸움에 나갈 수 있는 모든 자가 계수되었는데 So were all those that were numbered of the children of Israel, by the house of their fathers, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war in Israel;

⁴⁶곧 계수된 자가 모두 육십만 삼천오백오십 명이더라. Even all they that were numbered were six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.

⁴⁷¶그러나 레위 사람들은 그들의 조상들의 지파대로 그들 가운데 계수되지 아니하였으니 But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.

⁴⁸주께서 모세에게 말씀하여 이르시기를, For the LORD had spoken unto Moses, saying,

⁴⁹너는 레위 지파만은 계수하지 말며 이스라엘 자손 가운데서 그들의 총수를 조사하지 말고 Only thou shalt not number the tribe of Levi, neither take the sum of them among the children of Israel:

⁵⁰오직 레위 사람들을 임명하여 증언의 성막과 그것의 모든 기구와 그것에 속한 모든 것을 관리하게 할지니라. 그들은 성막과 그것의 모든 기구를 나르며 성막을 위해 섬기고 성막 주변에 돌아가며 진을 칠 것이며 But thou shalt appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of testimony, and over all the vessels thereof, and over all things that belong to it: they shall bear the tabernacle, and all the vessels thereof; and they shall minister unto it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle.

⁵¹성막이 앞으로 갈 때에는 레위 사람들이 그것을 거두어 내리고 성막을 칠 때에는 레위 사람들이 그것을 세울 것이요, 가까이 오는 낯선 자는 죽일지니라. And when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it down: and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

⁵²이스라엘 자손은 자기들의 장막을 치되 자기들의 군대 전체에 걸쳐 각 사람이 자기 진영 옆에, 각 사람이 자기 군기 옆에 칠 것이니라. And the children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, throughout their hosts.

⁵³그러나 레위 사람들은 증언의 성막 주변에 돌아가며 진을 쳐서 이스라엘 자손 회중에게 진노가 임하지 않게 할 것이요, 또 레위 사람들은 증언의 성막에 대한 책무를 맡을지니라, 하셨더라. But the Levites shall pitch round about the tabernacle of testimony, that there be no wrath upon the congregation of the children of Israel: and the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of testimony.

⁵⁴이스라엘 자손이 그대로 행하되 주께서 모세에게 명령하신 모든 것에 따라 행하였더라. And the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.
