아담에서 아브라함까지

1아담, 셋, 에노스, Adam, Sheth, Enosh,
2게난, 마할랄렐, 야렛, Kenan, Mahalaleel, Jered,
3에녹, 므두셀라, 라멕, 노아. Henoch, Methuselah, Lamech,
4노아의 아들들은 셈과 함과 야벳이다. Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
5야벳의 자손은 고멜과 마곡과 마대와 야완과 두발과 메섹과 디라스이고, The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
6고멜의 자손은 아스그나스와 디밧과 도갈마이고, And the sons of Gomer; Ashchenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
7야완의 자손은 엘리사와 스페인과 키프로스와 로도스이다. And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
8함의 자손은 구스와 이집트와 리비아와 가나안이고, The sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.
9구스의 자손은 쓰바와 하윌라와 삽다와 라아마와 삽드가이고, 라아마의 자손은 스바와 드단이다. And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabta, and Raamah, and Sabtecha. And the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.
10구스가 또 니므롯을 낳았는데, 그는 이 세상의 첫 장사가 되었다. And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be mighty upon the earth.
11이집트에게서 루드 족과 아남 족과 르합 족과 납두 족과 And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,
12바드룻 족과 가슬루 족과 크레테 족이 나왔다. (가슬루 족에서 블레셋 족이 나왔다.) And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (of whom came the Philistines,) and Caphthorim.
13가나안은 맏아들 시돈을 낳고, 그 아래로 헷을 낳았다. And Canaan begat Zidon his firstborn, and Heth,
14가나안에게서 여부스 족과 아모리 족과 기르가스 족과 The Jebusite also, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,
15히위 족과 알가 족과 신 족과 And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,
16아르왓 족과 스말 족과 하맛 족이 나왔다. And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite.
17셈의 자손은 엘람과 앗수르와 아르박삿과 룻과 아람이다. 아람의 자손은 우스와 훌과 게델과 메섹이다. The sons of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Meshech.
18아르박삿은 셀라를 낳고, 셀라는 에벨을 낳았다. And Arphaxad begat Shelah, and Shelah begat Eber.
19에벨은 두 아들을 낳았는데, 그 때에 세계 인종이 나뉘었다고 해서, 한 아들의 이름을 벨렉이라고 하였다. 그 아우의 이름은 욕단이다. And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg; because in his days the earth was divided: and his brother’s name was Joktan.
20욕단은 알모닷과 셀렙과 하살마웻과 예라와 And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,
21하도람과 우살과 디글라와 Hadoram also, and Uzal, and Diklah,
22에발과 아비마엘과 스바와 And Ebal, and Abimael, and Sheba,
23오빌과 하윌라와 요밥을 낳았다. 이들은 모두 욕단의 자손이다. And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.
24셈, 아르박삿, 셀라, Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah,
25에벨, 벨렉, 르우, Eber, Peleg, Reu,
26스룩, 나홀, 데라, Serug, Nahor, Terah,
27아브람 곧 아브라함. Abram; the same is Abraham.

이스마엘의 자손

28아브라함의 아들은 이삭과 이스마엘이다. The sons of Abraham; Isaac, and Ishmael.
29이들의 족보는 다음과 같다. 이스마엘의 맏아들은 느바욧이고, 그 아래로 게달과 앗브엘과 밉삼과 These are their generations: The firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth; then Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
30미스마와 두마와 맛사와 하닷과 데마와 Mishma, and Dumah, Massa, Hadad, and Tema,
31여두르와 나비스와 게드마가 태어났다. 이들이 이스마엘의 아들들이다. Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These are the sons of Ishmael.
32아브라함의 첩 그두라가 낳은 아들은 시므란과 욕산과 므단과 미디안과 이스박과 수아이다. 욕산의 아들은 스바와 드단이다. Now the sons of Keturah, Abraham’s concubine: she bare Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. And the sons of Jokshan; Sheba, and Dedan.
33미디안의 아들은 에바와 에벨과 하녹과 아비다와 엘다아이다. 이들은 모두 그두라의 자손이다. And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Henoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these are the sons of Keturah.

에서의 자손

34아브라함이 이삭을 낳았다. 이삭의 아들은 에서와 이스라엘이다. And Abraham begat Isaac. The sons of Isaac; Esau and Israel.
35에서의 아들은 엘리바스와 르우엘과 여우스와 얄람과 고라이다. The sons of Esau; Eliphaz, Reuel, and Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.
36엘리바스의 아들은 데만과 오말과 스비와 가담과 그나스와 딤나와 아말렉이다. The sons of Eliphaz; Teman, and Omar, Zephi, and Gatam, Kenaz, and Timna, and Amalek.
37르우엘의 아들은 나핫과 세라와 삼마와 밋사이다. The sons of Reuel; Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

에돔의 원주민

38세일의 아들은 로단과 소발과 시브온과 아나와 디손과 에셀과 디산이다. And the sons of Seir; Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan.
39로단의 아들은 호리와 호맘이며, 로단의 누이는 딤나이다. And the sons of Lotan; Hori, and Homam: and Timna was Lotan’s sister.
40소발의 아들은 알랸과 마나핫과 에발과 스비와 오남이다. 시브온의 아들은 아야와 아나이다. The sons of Shobal; Alian, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. And the sons of Zibeon; Aiah, and Anah.
41아나의 아들은 디손이고, 디손의 아들은 하므란과 에스반과 이드란과 그란이다. The sons of Anah; Dishon. And the sons of Dishon; Amram, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.
42에셀의 아들은 빌한과 사아완과 야아간이다. 디산의 아들은 우스와 아란이다. The sons of Ezer; Bilhan, and Zavan, and Jakan. The sons of Dishan; Uz, and Aran.

에돔의 왕들

43이스라엘 자손을 다스리는 왕이 있기 전에 에돔 땅을 다스린 왕은 다음과 같다. 브올의 아들 벨라가 딘하바에 도읍을 정하고 왕이 되었다. Now these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the children of Israel; Bela the son of Beor: and the name of his city was Dinhabah.
44벨라가 죽으니, 보스라 사람 세라의 아들 요밥이 그의 뒤를 이어 왕이 되었고, And when Bela was dead, Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.
45요밥이 죽으니, 데만 지방의 사람 후삼이 그의 뒤를 이어 왕이 되었고, And when Jobab was dead, Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead.
46후삼이 죽으니, 브닷의 아들 하닷이 그의 뒤를 이어 왕이 되었는데, 그는 모압 평지에서 미디안을 쳐서 무찌른 사람이다. 그는 도읍을 아윗으로 옮겼다. And when Husham was dead, Hadad the son of Bedad, which smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Avith.
47하닷이 죽으니, 마스레가 사람 삼라가 그의 뒤를 이어 왕이 되었고, And when Hadad was dead, Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.
48삼라가 죽으니 유프라테스 강 가에 살던 르호봇 사람 사울이 그의 뒤를 이어 왕이 되었고, And when Samlah was dead, Shaul of Rehoboth by the river reigned in his stead.
49사울이 죽으니, 악볼의 아들 바알하난이 그의 뒤를 이어 왕이 되었고, And when Shaul was dead, Baal-hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.
50바알하난이 죽으니, 하닷이 그의 뒤를 이어 왕이 되었는데, 그는 도읍을 바이로 옮겼다. 그의 아내의 이름은 므헤다벨인데, 그는 마드렛의 딸이요, 메사합의 손녀이다. And when Baal-hanan was dead, Hadad reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Pai; and his wife’s name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.
51하닷이 죽었다. 에돔의 족장은, 딤나 족장과 알랴 족장과 여뎃 족장과 Hadad died also. And the dukes of Edom were; duke Timnah, duke Aliah, duke Jetheth,
52오홀리바마 족장과 엘라 족장과 비논 족장과 Duke Aholibamah, duke Elah, duke Pinon,
53그나스 족장과 데만 족장과 밉살 족장과 Duke Kenaz, duke Teman, duke Mibzar,
54막디엘 족장과 이람 족장이다. 이들이 에돔의 족장이다. Duke Magdiel, duke Iram. These are the dukes of Edom.
