1다리오 왕 제사년 아홉째 달 곧 기슬래월 사일에 여호와의 말씀이 스가랴에게 임하니라And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius, that the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, even in Chisleu;
2그 때에 벧엘 사람이 사레셀과 레겜멜렉과 그의 부하들을 보내어 여호와께 은혜를 구하고When they had sent unto the house of God Sherezer and Regem-melech, and their men, to pray before the LORD ,
3만군의 여호와의 전에 있는 제사장들과 선지자들에게 물어 이르되 내가 여러 해 동안 행한 대로 오월 중에 울며 근신하리이까 하매And to speak unto the priests which were in the house of the LORD of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?
4만군의 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 이르시되Then came the word of the LORD of hosts unto me, saying,
5온 땅의 백성과 제사장들에게 이르라 너희가 칠십 년 동안 다섯째 달과 일곱째 달에 금식하고 애통하였거니와 그 금식이 나를 위하여, 나를 위하여 한 것이냐Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month , even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me?
6너희가 먹고 마실 때에 그것은 너희를 위하여 먹고 너희를 위하여 마시는 것이 아니냐And when ye did eat, and when ye did drink, did not ye eat for yourselves , and drink for yourselves ?
7예루살렘과 사면 성읍에 백성이 평온히 거주하며 남방과 평원에 사람이 거주할 때에 여호와가 옛 선지자들을 통하여 외친 말씀이 있지 않으냐 하시니라Should ye not hear the words which the LORD hath cried by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, when men inhabited the south and the plain?
사로잡혀 가는 까닭
8여호와의 말씀이 스가랴에게 임하여 이르시되And the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah, saying,
9만군의 여호와가 이같이 말하여 이르시기를 너희는 진실한 재판을 행하며 서로 인애와 긍휼을 베풀며Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:
10과부와 고아와 나그네와 궁핍한 자를 압제하지 말며 서로 해하려고 마음에 도모하지 말라 하였으나And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.
11그들이 듣기를 싫어하여 등을 돌리며 듣지 아니하려고 귀를 막으며But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.
12그 마음을 금강석 같게 하여 율법과 만군의 여호와가 그의 영으로 옛 선지자들을 통하여 전한 말을 듣지 아니하므로 큰 진노가 만군의 여호와께로부터 나왔도다Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts.
13내가 불러도 그들이 듣지 아니한 것처럼 그들이 불러도 내가 듣지 아니하리라 만군의 여호와가 말하였느니라Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts:
14내가 그들을 바람으로 불어 알지 못하던 여러 나라에 흩었느니라 그 후에 이 땅이 황폐하여 오고 가는 사람이 없었나니 이는 그들이 아름다운 땅을 황폐하게 하였음이니라 하시니라But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they laid the pleasant land desolate.
