솔로몬이 성전을 건축하다

1이스라엘 자손이 애굽 땅에서 나온 지 사백팔십 년이요 솔로몬이 이스라엘 왕이 된 지 사 년 시브월 곧 둘째 달에 솔로몬이 여호와를 위하여 성전 건축하기를 시작하였더라 And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD .
2솔로몬 왕이 여호와를 위하여 건축한 성전은 길이가 육십 규빗이요 너비가 이십 규빗이요 높이가 삼십 규빗이며 And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD , the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits , and the height thereof thirty cubits.
3성전의 성소 앞 주랑의 길이는 성전의 너비와 같이 이십 규빗이요 그 너비는 성전 앞에서부터 십 규빗이며 And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house.
4성전을 위하여 창틀 있는 붙박이 창문을 내고 And for the house he made windows of narrow lights.
5또 성전의 벽 곧 성소와 지성소의 벽에 연접하여 돌아가며 다락들을 건축하되 다락마다 돌아가며 골방들을 만들었으니 And against the wall of the house he built chambers round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the oracle: and he made chambers round about:
6하층 다락의 너비는 다섯 규빗이요 중층 다락의 너비는 여섯 규빗이요 셋째 층 다락의 너비는 일곱 규빗이라 성전의 벽 바깥으로 돌아가며 턱을 내어 골방 들보들로 성전의 벽에 박히지 아니하게 하였으며 The nethermost chamber was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad: for without in the wall of the house he made narrowed rests round about, that the beams should not be fastened in the walls of the house.
7이 성전은 건축할 때에 돌을 그 뜨는 곳에서 다듬고 가져다가 건축하였으므로 건축하는 동안에 성전 속에서는 방망이나 도끼나 모든 철 연장 소리가 들리지 아니하였으며 And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.
8중층 골방의 문은 성전 오른쪽에 있는데 나사 모양 층계로 말미암아 하층에서 중층에 오르고 중층에서 셋째 층에 오르게 하였더라 The door for the middle chamber was in the right side of the house: and they went up with winding stairs into the middle chamber , and out of the middle into the third.
9성전의 건축을 마치니라 그 성전은 백향목 서까래와 널판으로 덮었고 So he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar.
10또 온 성전으로 돌아가며 높이가 다섯 규빗 되는 다락방을 건축하되 백향목 들보로 성전에 연접하게 하였더라 And then he built chambers against all the house, five cubits high: and they rested on the house with timber of cedar.
11여호와의 말씀이 솔로몬에게 임하여 이르시되 And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying,
12네가 지금 이 성전을 건축하니 네가 만일 내 법도를 따르며 내 율례를 행하며 내 모든 계명을 지켜 그대로 행하면 내가 네 아버지 다윗에게 한 말을 네게 확실히 이룰 것이요 Concerning this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father:
13내가 또한 이스라엘 자손 가운데에 거하며 내 백성 이스라엘을 버리지 아니하리라 하셨더라 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.

성전 내부 장식(대하 3:8-14)

14솔로몬이 성전 건축하기를 마치고 So Solomon built the house, and finished it.
15백향목 널판으로 성전의 안벽 곧 성전 마루에서 천장까지의 벽에 입히고 또 잣나무 널판으로 성전 마루를 놓고 And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, both the floor of the house, and the walls of the cieling: and he covered them on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the house with planks of fir.
16또 성전 뒤쪽에서부터 이십 규빗 되는 곳에 마루에서 천장까지 백향목 널판으로 가로막아 성전의 내소 곧 지성소를 만들었으며 And he built twenty cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and the walls with boards of cedar: he even built them for it within, even for the oracle, even for the most holy place .
17내소 앞에 있는 외소 곧 성소의 길이가 사십 규빗이며 And the house, that is , the temple before it, was forty cubits long .
18성전 안에 입힌 백향목에는 박과 핀 꽃을 아로새겼고 모두 백향목이라 돌이 보이지 아니하며 And the cedar of the house within was carved with knops and open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen.
19여호와의 언약궤를 두기 위하여 성전 안에 내소를 마련하였는데 And the oracle he prepared in the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of the LORD .
20그 내소의 안은 길이가 이십 규빗이요 너비가 이십 규빗이요 높이가 이십 규빗이라 정금으로 입혔고 백향목 제단에도 입혔더라 And the oracle in the forepart was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof: and he overlaid it with pure gold; and so covered the altar which was of cedar.
21솔로몬이 정금으로 외소 안에 입히고 내소 앞에 금사슬로 건너지르고 내소를 금으로 입히고 So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he made a partition by the chains of gold before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold.
22온 성전을 금으로 입히기를 마치고 내소에 속한 제단의 전부를 금으로 입혔더라 And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold.
23내소 안에 감람나무로 두 그룹을 만들었는데 그 높이가 각각 십 규빗이라 And within the oracle he made two cherubims of olive tree, each ten cubits high.
24한 그룹의 이쪽 날개도 다섯 규빗이요 저쪽 날개도 다섯 규빗이니 이쪽 날개 끝으로부터 저쪽 날개 끝까지 십 규빗이며 And five cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits.
25다른 그룹도 십 규빗이니 그 두 그룹은 같은 크기와 같은 모양이요 And the other cherub was ten cubits: both the cherubims were of one measure and one size.
26이 그룹의 높이가 십 규빗이요 저 그룹도 같았더라 The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was it of the other cherub.
27솔로몬이 내소 가운데에 그룹을 두었으니 그룹들의 날개가 퍼져 있는데 이쪽 그룹의 날개는 이쪽 벽에 닿았고 저쪽 그룹의 날개는 저쪽 벽에 닿았으며 두 날개는 성전의 중앙에서 서로 닿았더라 And he set the cherubims within the inner house: and they stretched forth the wings of the cherubims, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.
28그가 금으로 그룹을 입혔더라 And he overlaid the cherubims with gold.
29내 외소 사방 벽에는 모두 그룹들과 종려와 핀 꽃 형상을 아로새겼고 And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, within and without.
30내외 성전 마루에는 금으로 입혔으며 And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.
31내소에 들어가는 곳에는 감람나무로 문을 만들었는데 그 문인방과 문설주는 벽의 오분의 일이요 And for the entering of the oracle he made doors of olive tree: the lintel and side posts were a fifth part of the wall .
32감람나무로 만든 그 두 문짝에 그룹과 종려와 핀 꽃을 아로새기고 금으로 입히되 곧 그룹들과 종려에 금으로 입혔더라 The two doors also were of olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubims, and upon the palm trees.
33또 외소의 문을 위하여 감람나무로 문설주를 만들었으니 곧 벽의 사분의 일이며 So also made he for the door of the temple posts of olive tree, a fourth part of the wall .
34그 두 문짝은 잣나무라 이쪽 문짝도 두 짝으로 접게 되었고 저쪽 문짝도 두 짝으로 접게 되었으며 And the two doors were of fir tree: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.
35그 문짝에 그룹들과 종려와 핀 꽃을 아로새기고 금으로 입히되 그 새긴 데에 맞게 하였고 And he carved thereon cherubims and palm trees and open flowers: and covered them with gold fitted upon the carved work.
36또 다듬은 돌 세 켜와 백향목 두꺼운 판자 한 켜로 둘러 안뜰을 만들었더라 And he built the inner court with three rows of hewed stone, and a row of cedar beams.
37넷째 해 시브월에 여호와의 성전 기초를 쌓았고 In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of the LORD laid, in the month Zif:
38열한째 해 불월 곧 여덟째 달에 그 설계와 식양대로 성전 건축이 다 끝났으니 솔로몬이 칠 년 동안 성전을 건축하였더라 And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.
