1예수 그리스도의 종이요 야고보의 형제인 유다는 하나님 아버지에 의해 거룩히 구별되고 예수 그리스도 안에서 보존되며 부르심을 받은 자들에게 편지하노니 Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:
2긍휼과 평강과 사랑이 너희에게 더욱 많이 있기를 원하노라. Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.
3사랑하는 자들아, 공통의 구원에 관하여 내가 너희에게 쓰려고 모든 열심을 내던 차에 성도들에게 단 한 번 전달된 믿음을 위해 너희가 힘써 싸우라고 너희에게 써서 권면할 필요를 느꼈노니 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
4이는 알지 못하는 가운데 기어 들어온 어떤 자들이 있기 때문이라. 그들은 이 정죄를 받도록 옛적부터 미리 정해진 자들이요, 우리 하나님의 은혜를 색욕거리로 바꾸고 유일하신 주 하나님과 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 부인하는 경건치 아니한 자들이라. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
5그러므로 비록 너희가 전에 이것을 알았을지라도 내가 너희로 하여금 기억하게 하려 하노라. 곧 주께서 백성을 이집트 땅에서 구원하시고 그 뒤에 믿지 않는 자들을 멸하셨으며 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
6또 자기들의 처음 신분을 지키지 아니하고 자기들의 처소를 떠난 천사들을 큰 날의 심판 때까지 영존하는 사슬로 묶어 어둠 밑에 예비해 두셨는데 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
7이것은 소돔과 고모라와 그것들의 주변 도시들이 같은 방식으로 자기를 음행에 내주고 낯선 육체를 따라가다가 영원한 불로 보복을 당하여 본보기가 된 것과 같으니라. Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
8또 그와 마찬가지로 이 추악한 꿈꾸는 자들도 육체를 더럽히고 통치권을 멸시하며 위엄 있는 자들을 비방하는도다. Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
9그러나 천사장 미가엘도 모세의 몸에 대하여 마귀와 다투며 논쟁할 때에 감히 그에게 욕설로 비난하지 아니하고 다만 이르되, 주께서 너를 꾸짖으시기 원하노라, 하였느니라. Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
10그러나 이들은 자기들이 알지 못하는 그것들을 비방하고 또 이성 없는 짐승들같이 자기들이 본능으로 아는 것 즉 그것들로 인하여 스스로를 부패시키느니라. But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
11그들에게 화가 있을지어다! 그들이 가인의 길로 갔으며 대가를 바라고 발람의 잘못을 따라 탐욕을 내며 달려갔고 고라의 반역 가운데서 멸망하였도다. Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
12이들이 너희와 함께 잔치를 할 때에 두려움도 없이 먹으니 그들은 너희의 사랑의 잔치에 얼룩이라. 그들은 바람에 밀려다니는 물 없는 구름이요, 열매가 시들고 열매가 없으며 두 번 죽어 뿌리째 뽑힌 나무요, These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
13자기 수치의 거품을 뿜어내는 바다의 성난 물결이요, 떠돌아다니는 별들이니 그들을 위해 캄캄한 어둠이 영원토록 예비되어 있느니라. Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
14아담으로부터 일곱째 사람인 에녹도 이들에 관해 대언하여 이르되, 보라, 주께서 자신의 수만 성도와 함께 오시나니 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
15이것은 모든 사람에게 심판을 집행하사 그들 가운데 경건치 아니한 모든 자들이 경건치 아니하게 범한 모든 경건치 아니한 행위와 또 경건치 아니한 죄인들이 그분을 대적하여 말한 모든 거친 발언에 대하여 그들을 정죄하려 하심이라, 하였느니라. To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
16이들은 투덜거리는 자들이요 불평하는 자들이며 자기 정욕대로 걷는 자들이니라. 그들의 입은 크게 부풀린 말을 하며 이득을 위해 사람들의 외모에 감탄하느니라. These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words , having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.
17그러나 사랑하는 자들아, 너희는 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 사도들이 전에 한 말들을 기억하라. But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
18그들이 너희에게 마지막 때에는 자기들의 경건치 아니한 정욕대로 걷는 조롱하는 자들이 있을 것을 일러 주었는데 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
19이들은 자기를 분리시키는 자들이며 육체적 감각대로 살고 성령이 없는 자들이니라. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
20그러나 사랑하는 자들아, 너희는 너희의 지극히 거룩한 믿음 위에 너희 자신을 세우며 성령님 안에서 기도하고 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
21하나님의 사랑 안에서 너희 자신을 지키며 영원한 생명에 이르도록 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 긍휼을 기다리라. Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
22차이를 두어 어떤 사람들은 불쌍히 여기고 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
23또 다른 사람들은 불에서 끄집어내어 두려움을 가지고 구원하되 육체로 더러워진 옷조차도 미워하라. And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
24이제 능히 너희를 보호하사 넘어지지 아니하게 하시고 넘치는 기쁨으로 자신의 영광이 있는 곳 앞에 흠 없이 너희를 제시하시는 분 해설 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
25즉 홀로 지혜로우신 하나님 곧 우리의 구원자께 영광과 존엄과 통치와 권능이 이제와 영원토록 있기를 원하노라. 아멘. To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
